The thing about this country is that people do not want to ever be called racist, classist, homophobic, misogynistic at all whatsoever, even if they are in fact bigots. This is ESPECIALLY the case with ‘educated’ people who learn that in order to come off as educated they have to project not being any of these things through explicit language, being explicitly bigoted is a marker of the ‘uneducated’, but they give themselves away if you pay close attention to their body language and reactions.

AGAIN, the MO is not actually questioning your bigotry, its ACTING as if its not there, though when pushed people will reveal what they’re all about to you. Though of course confrontation is not always an option so pay very close attention to how people hold themselves, how they chose to word their arguments, how they react to the targets of their prejudice.

They’ll reveal everything to you.

AND FYI this is proven year after year, its basically the easiest sociological case study you can pull off in this country at this point which is how much prejudice there is against minorities in the workplace and society in general. IDK how many studies like this come out just on callbacks for resumés with non-white v white sounding names every year.
