Shea moisture got black women ALL THE WAY fucked up
What did Shea Moisture do?
Sold the company 2 years ago to a mitt romney company so its now white owned. Then they posted a video with white women who were saying they experienced hate for their hair and it hurt them, Saying “ I had to dye my hair blond to be accepted”. Then they went on to thank this dumb man Tariq Nasheed who was talking shit about black women. Plus they are changing all the formulas and have been doing so to reach the white audience. So as the audience that put them on the map, we won’t be able to use these products any more, because they will no longer work for our hair.
@chrissymaayy The have investment from Bain Capital and Mitt Romney did co found it but they didn’t completely sell the company check Atlanta Blackstar @rudelyfe
@blackboxbeauty Yeah, I know it’s not completely sold but when you get to more than half of it being bought out, it’s like what the hell. Like it’s not trust worthy. Because these companies do this a lot and it starts small and ends up big to the point it doesn’t work for us any longer. I just also think it’s annoying we have to keep sharing our spaces, because black women spend money on hair products, we are the top consumers, especially with shea moisture. So they truly didn’t need to try and reach anyone else. You can have just one audience and stay true to that. Especially when it’s out of love, it wasn’t an issue just catering to black hair, but then again that is when the majority of it was black owned. I haven’t been using it for awhile anyways, but I personally won’t be using it at all. Also I’m not saying this in a rude way so please don’t take it that way, I’m just speaking on it.
