Child abuse in Japan
While no link has been made between anime, manga and child abuse, Japan is facing a “serious” child abuse problem, according to a White Paper issued by the National Police Agency in March.
The paper said the number of child abuse victims jumped 20% between 2011 and 2012, and the number of victims, arrests and cases are at their highest levels since they started compiling statistics in 1999.
At the same time, the number of cleared child pornography crime cases rose to 1,596, the highest ever recorded, the paper said. Most – 85% – were Internet-related. The figures inspired the U.S. State Department to label Japan as an “international hub” for producing and trafficking child pornography.
The U.S. report noted that no national law addresses the “unfettered availability of sexual explicit cartoons, comics and video games, some of which depicted scenes of violent sexual abuse and the rape of children.
It added: ‘While the NPA continued to maintain that no link was established between these animated images and child victimization, other experts suggested children are harmed by a culture that appears to accept child sexual abuse.”
This needs to be fucking slam-dunked in the faces of every single abhorrent and disgusting pedophile and/or pedo-apologist that wants to cry and whine about how fictitious child pornography doesn’t contribute to nor perpetuate CSA just as real footage or photographs of children does; those disgusting clods who insist that fictitious depictions of children in sexual situations doesn’t somehow normalize the idea that sexualizing

I mean based on my own experience and the stories of so many others I don’t understand how like there isn’t more ‘official’ statistics on this. It seems everyone I talk to about this has been groomed in some way by fictitious child porn whether written in fanfiction or by artwork not to mention the amount of paedophiles who are busted and its proven that they have also used fictional child porn to groom children that they have abused.
Like ugh I have a lot of thoughts and brain static here but yeah anyone who doubts or rejects this and proceeds to support and produce paedophilic content is vile, dangerous and dont ever think for one second they are not aware of what they’re doing. They are. They do not care about abuse victims they simply care about their own desires and normalising these desires to make it easier for them to get off free of issue. Regardless to whether they’re also survivors or not it doesn’t excuse this.
(And like I’ve said before I really cant get my head around, how, as a survivor, you would be totally okay with your personal “therapy” material being utilised by paedophiles to abuse others the way you were ?? why would that not trouble you and why would you not take precautions to prevent that???)
I mean on the topic of child porn as personal therapy yea. Ok. Fine. Ok. I dont really agree. But if thats REALLY the intention there is ABSOLUTELY no reason for them to continually inject this content into wide varied public audiences regardless of age or consent.
And like Yeah. They’ll say things like IF ITS TAGGED JUST AVOID THE TAGS YOU DONT LIKE, ITS YOUR JOB… But I mean theres a lot of reasons thats bullshit and the most glaring, particularly in my case and personal experience, is that when you have pedophiles and abusers consuming this content they are taking it and using it for their own means. There was no fucking tags or archive warnings or whatever that would have prevented me from seeing my abuser copy pasting passages of their favourite fics to me over MSN or linking me directly to said fics. God there are so many reasons why the archive warnings shit is a broken dumb ass argument in regard to sharing and producing this.
The complete lack of regard for this really says it all. You can keep it to yourself, and your consenting significant other in that whole therapy bubble, but when you make it an entirely public affair and all you’re worried about is defending it and validating yourself guess what???? You’re not doing this to cope with your trauma. You’re not. You’re making all the exact same excuses practising pedophiles use. Your only concern is validating yourself and creating a personal echochamber in which you can normalise this sort content toward children regardless to the harm it does for YOUR OWN BENEFIT and at the expense of others.
