As members of the lgbtpn community, we need to do better.

I’m noticing that, still, there is a trend of people defining pan as being an identity that is only difference from being bi because it includes trans people.

That’s transphobic.

That implies that, for example, a cis lesbian couldn’t be attracted to a trans woman, invalidating both of their identities.

Another problem is the slogan “hearts not parts.”

That’s transphobic and a number of other obics as well.

It implies that other orientations are attracted to people based on their genitalia.

Not only is this reducing Everyone to what’s in their pants, it’s just plain wrong.

We members of the lgbtpn community need to check ourselves and make sure we aren’t perpetuating transphobic ideas. Especially unintentionally.
