this is a friendly reminder that aladdin should have a middle eastern/arab cast, stop interchanging arabs with pakistani and indian people, we are not the same, as much as i love riz ahmed, dev patel, and avan jogia, they are not arab, therefore can not and should not be casted as aladdin, disney is looking to cast naomi scott as jasmine, which also should not be the case because she is indian, NOT ARAB, the main fault of this is because everyone seems to think it’s ok to have indians or pakistani people take roles in aladdin because they have brown skin, it’s racist and wrong, this is exactly the same case about how asian people are not interchangeable, so please stop fancasting or pushing the idea of having indian and pakistani people playing parts in aladdin

There’s nothing wrong with having Indian or Pakistani people playing Arab parts???? They’re acting and playing a role. It’s like trying to say that, because I’m Asian, I should not try to audition for a part in my school’s Beauty and the Beast musical. Sure, it’s a problem that people are getting mixed up and trying to say that Arabs and Indians and Pakistanis are all the same when they’re not. But when it comes to playing roles in movies, an actor is not his role. Put whoever is most capable in your cast.

clearly you don’t understand the importance of aladdin having an arab cast, the ONLY THING the media is CONSISTENT with is making ARABS LOOK LIKE VILLAINS, aladdin is arab, the movie’s opening title song is arabian nights, they use arabic words/terms throughout the movie, having the cast be all arab is a HUGE win for the arab community, it gives a chance for us to break into the hollywood scene to actually play parts that aren’t your fucking terrorists, indian and pakistani people can go find their own tale to be cast in, they shouldn’t be hyped up to steal our parts, it’s fucking disrespectful and RACIST, YOU CAN NOT TAKE A CHINESE PERSON AND MAKE THEM PLAY A JAPANESE PART AND SAY “eh it’s close enough” AND THE SAME FUCKING THING GOES W ARABS AND INDIAN AND PAKISTANI PEOPLE, your example is also complete fucking bullshit because a school play is not the same thing as a full blown live action disney film w millions of dollars of funding, i want my fucking representation accurate, aladdin was the only fucking thing i had growing up, as an arab who wants to break into the film industry, its fucking hard for us, this movie is about opening doors for people like me, so no aladdin can’t and shouldn’t be played by a pakistani or indian actor
