anyway @ my mutuals whos typing is effected by their disabilities or have shaky hands due to anxiety/meds i love u ur not a joke or embarrassing im sorry u have to see all these jokes about ‘cry-typing’

crytyping is a joke started by brown/black bloggers on here to make fun of white bloggers who, when called out on racism, try to manipulate and guilttrip the bloggers pointing out their racism by intentionally mistyping because “thheyre so uppppset ):” by the “harassment”

i was first upset by them as well but theres a very specific context why the jokes started up and unless youre a bigot who tries to use their disabilities/mental illnesses to intentionally avoid any responsibility, youre good

yeah and OP is white so its like…. this post rlly didnt need to be made.

its understandable for ppl to feel self-conscious about their typing patterns bc of crytyping jokes – its natural to have a harder time typing when upset or if u are disabled (i do it too!), and jokes abotu it can make us self-conscious. 

but this post isnt reassuring ppl with disabilities, its just plain being passive aggressive at those jokes existing at all which is like… its clear u missed the point of those jokes, which is that crytyping is the textual equivalent of CROCODILE TEARS. crytyping jokes are about (white) ppl making over-the-top errors in response to legitimate criticism, in order to manipulate ppl into sympathizing with how upset they seem and to distract from the legitimacy of the criticism

like @abuelitalesbiana said (thank u!) crytyping jokes exist for a reason and to pre-occupy urself with inaccurately claiming they’re ableist when they actually serve the purpose of conveying “white people when called on racism will pull out the dramatics to look sympathetic and fragile and gentle* and bullied unfairly by those big bad poc”is myopic at best!!!!!

*and, like, pertinent to this discussion is the fact that crytyping as a form of theatrics started with white bloggers in the 2012-2014 era selling themselves as “im a small moss plant baby pls treat me gently!!!!!!!!!!!!! im so sensitive and fragile and tiny im a leaf” despite being abuse/racism apologists lol. white frailty when its convenient!!
