I’ve been trying to part ways with this guy for a multitude of reasons but when I tried to he said he wanted to die/kill himself and that I was his source of happiness and only reason for living .. And it made me really scared. What should I do?

Let him die. You are not obligated to anyone. Send him the suicide hotline number and keep it the fuck moving. This is manipulation. You’re allowing yourself to die emotionally in order to keep him alive. Put yourself first. Let him go. 

If he really loved you would he doing this to you? No.
