If you talk about fandom racism in a white fandom, be prepared to lose your white friends. Be prepared to find out that they don’t support you, and that they are racist and care about their white feelings over your safety. Be prepared for them to twist your words, call you out, vague about you just because you wanting a safe space in fandom offends them. But just realize that they never cared about you or your safety. That doesn’t mean that you don’t need to call fandom racism out or put up with your white friend’s bullshit because if you stay silent, you’re just excsuing the racism that goes on.
