closet-keys:

hot take: I don’t trust any cis person whose participation in conversations on trans rights never includes anything about material oppression like employment/housing discrimination, medical/psychiatric abuse, homelessness, sexual assault/abuse, social ostracizing, etc. or even about the underlying transphobic cultural belief system reflected in politics of desire, and instead only speak about trans activism in terms of whether they personally would have sex with a trans person. it’s literally nothing more than sexual objectification, and if you’re cis and you’re doing this you need to stop thinking of trans people as sex objects that cis people either “include” (i.e. use for “woke” points, usually) or “exclude” (reveal transphobia through literal expressions of disgust) because both are objectifying and transphobic as fuck and you’re not viewing your trans comrades as autonomous individuals with full lives.
