like what also gets me is just… the fact that fiction affects reality is so fundamental and basic that like. any class based around critical discussion of media is just gonna assume you understand it to begin with. like its so basic and obvious that its just assumed that if you have a fucking brain youre gonna know that, or quickly understand it once youre introduced to the concept

like i know most of these people are in willful denial of that fact or even lying bc it makes it easier for them to be disgusting unquestioned like… but some people just genuinely seem to have this delusion that we’re living in a universe where fiction is somehow some magical pocket dimension entirely separate from reality bc i truly cannot understand how else a sentient human being could argue the things that these people do in complete earnestness
