I’m convinced most Americans don’t know how immigration works. Among other things.

I can assure you they don’t. I’ve talked about the immigration process and how I got here so many times and the reaction remains constant at no one knowing how complicated and rigid it is.

If it was simple for people to get immigration status illegal immigration would not be a “problem” (using that word loosely). Immigration is expensive. Sometimes the government makes a smooth 15k per head and guess what? You don’t get a refund if you’re rejected. Imagine being a law abiding citizen in your home country but want that “American dream” only to be rejected after spending over 5k in fees.

The America immigration system is one of life’s biggest gambles.

Mind you it’s humans filing these papers and if they mess up somewhere along the way because of pure human error (which they do A LOT), you’re out thousands and have to restart from the beginning.

Also… this is sad, but they don’t tell you that the more money you have the quicker you’ll get papers. If you can pay the legal and reputable immigration lawyer fees seamlessly you’ll get your papers faster. It usually takes almost up to 5 years maybe longer if someone messes up and your file/claim… unless you’ve got that $€£₽¥₩$

{Not to tell on my family members, but my mother and her siblings didn’t take more than 2 years to get our papers because they had leftover money from their fathers farm earnings from zambia and Brazil, their father was a well respected member of the Zambian parliament, also their oldest brother had non Zambian business connects in USA. So, they pretty much paid the people at the Zambian/USA immigration office to speed it tf up. IT WAS STILL TEDIOUS. But lord it could have been worst.}

If you can, get a working or a student visa! Lord, once you’re in it can be easier… also once you’re in you can fall in love with an American…. and get married 👀 im not saying to do that I’m just saying if it so happens… then good on you for finding true love 👀…

YOU DONT HAVE TO GO TO AN EXPENSIVE UNIVERSITY TO GET A STUDENT VISA… community colleges count too honey.

The saddest thing is a lot of these people are moving to America because of the negative effects that colonization left in their countries.

Had these countries been left the f*cl alone… well, people wouldn’t be chasing that “American dream”.
