I don’t understand why she’s doing this, and it’s not because I have a problem when artists are past their heyday and still go on the road. I’ve seen Madonna, I’m planning to see Janet, and I have no interest in seeing Cher, but good for her. Outside of a tour, I’m even here for the lil’ pop-up shows here and there. I’ve seen SWV at BB King’s and Brandy at the Best Buy Theater – both amazing shows. So if your blockbuster days are behind you and you still wanna get out there for the fans, more power to you.
However, from where I’m sitting, there are three reasons why these acts usually go on tour.
I would rather buy a ticket to Britney’s Piece of Me residency. Even if Brit Brit can’t be arsed to give me a show, I know her army of backup dancers and special effects technicians will.
