“Main character has an annoying character who follows them around, never leaves them alone, constantly over steps their boundaries and doesn’t respect that the MC doesn’t want them there until MC breaks and screams at them to leave them alone, so the annoying character cries and runs away and it’s up to MC to find them and apologize and say the annoying character can keep doing it if they want.”
That is some real fucked up shit that shows up in tons of shows and movies geared towards kids. Telling kids that if someone refuses to respect their boundaries and makes them uncomfortable that’s fine, but standing up for themselves is bad and makes them the villain?
You know that half the audience is learning that they don’t have the right to say no while the other half is learning to ignore when someone says no. That is not what little kids should be taught.
