recent news is terrible in regards to things that the current administration is doing but also now marvel comics is going to partner with an arms dealer / military contractor company to do an all ages comic  which was announced at nycc 2017

and if you haven’t already been doing so, now’s the time to support indie creators and other publications who don’t pull this bullshit, even if it’s a one shot or mini series it’s just really wtf are you doing and why is this considered to be an okay idea (retorical question ) ???

a literal actual page in this comic, source: marvel’s own website, where you can currently read this for free

some comics you might be interested in supporting/trying that don’t blatantly advocate for fascism:

Coady and the Creepies

Giant Days

Godshaper

Goldie Vance

Lumberjanes

Welcome Back

Boom studios in general is awesome, but I have less experience with their action comics that’d be closer in genre to Marvel.  The Spire is one I’ve heard rec’d that’s more actiony.

Kim & Kim

Jade Street Protection Services

BTW, every single one of these comic recs has lgbtqia+ characters.

If it’s the superhero genre you love, here’s some books that deserve support and your time:

Dreadnought

Heroine Complex

Not Your Sidekick

If you’re into superhero comics, Lion Forge’s Catalyst Prime universe is fantastic, and since it’s brand new, you can get caught up really fast.

Lion Forge is committed to diversity both on the page and within the company, and I can personally vouch that all of the comics listed above are really really good.  My favorite is Superb, which involves the first superhero with Down Syndrome.
