RE: being a black kid and being made fun of growing up for liking anime and video games. As someone who did go through that, the sole fact of liking those things had nothing to do with being picked on. I was just a weird ass fucking dickhead lol. And a lot of the black people who still feel like that although they’re adults now are still dickheads so like… you have it coming.
Not to mention, a lot of anime and video games deserve to get made fun of and mocked because they’re just… really bad. They sexualize young girls, contain a lot of terrible themes presented as normal things, etc. Like we joke about the whole “anime was a mistake” thing but Miyazaki was very serious and it’s a true statement.
Honestly the only case I can think of where you can get made fun of for liking something is if it’s feminine. Like if you’re a guy and you say you love Sailor Moon. But that’s not this weird “black people don’t get me” shit y’all are on, it’s an issue of hypermasculinity and misogyny. Which, you guessed it, is an issue within every race.
