Black folks that firmly have disposable income really need to stop shaming Black folks that don’t and occasionally indulge in something nice for themselves. A pair of Jordans isn’t going to impede generational wealth but it is going to make someone feel good to have something of value for themselves. This really tired rhetoric of if you buy something that’s of an aspirational brand and your lower income it means that you’re not going to have any wealth ever is classist harmful shaming bullshit. People have enough to worry about in poverty and in being lower class then people trying to embarrass them or shame them for wanting something nice for themselves some Black people need to get a fucking grip already.
