I sometimes get uncomfortable seeing famous white social justice bloggers on my dash…
Let me add some context.
I really feel like popular white social justice bloggers on here speak over poc issues, or just people of color in general.
What a person of color finds empowering, not all white people do. And some white social justice advocates tend to forget that we don’t see the world the same way they do , but they decide that if they don’t like certain trope or something that poc find empowering, then no one can.
In many cases, I’ve seen white social justice bloggers who think they are allies, attack poc for something the poc finds empowering, but they as a white person don’t.Whether it be a character, or a trope or something…
And just in general, they speak over out issues. Some places we see racism they obviously cannot and decide that if they don’t see racism then no one can.
And this happens a lot, with white social justice bloggers who make their blogs plat forms for social justice. They are trying so hard to “ally” they speak over poc and even get upset when a poc sees empowerment in a place they don’t and even attacks said poc…But in conclusion, famous white bloggers scare me because if they don’t like something then all of a sudden it’s wrong and no one, not even poc can like it.
