There’s nothing wrong with older people being in fandom like your interests just don’t just die once you hit your mid/late 20s. 

But the thing is once you get to be a certain age all that childish fandom shit? the shitty temper tantrums, entitled behavior, and just general assholeness that gets younger people dragged on a daily basis here? That shit gets EXTRA obnoxious and sad. I literally cannot believe that people find that hard to understand.

And idk why all of this is even controversial now like this is just a compete recycle of the 00s on Livejournal, we had people like the Snapewives running around who were mocked relentlessly and the infamous Andrew Blake/Andy Blake/Thanfiction was at full strength. And there were still plenty of older people present who minded their own business, didn’t do anything but write fic, crack jokes, and if they were feeling spicy call JK Rowling a coward for not making Remus/Sirius canon.

Like I know hyperdefensive is the default state for anybody heavily involved in fandom but come on now.
