I’ll try to keep this short so no one scrolls past. It’s an emergency. I made a donation post about this earlier but the situation has changed and the old post is losing traction so here’s a new one.
My friend Annetta is a homeless trans woman in Portland, OR facing abuse and denial of help from ALL homeless shelters in her area. She and her friend Hope were kicked out of a women’s shelter for standing up for Melissa, a mentally ill homeless woman who is not lucid. Since then they have been harassed by police endlessly. Hope and Annetta are couch surfing until they can get enough money to buy an RV to live in with Melissa, who is separated from them currently. All 3 are struggling and have almost died of hypothermia several times.
