not to be that guy but for all that people on tumblr talk about how asians and east asians specifically are not one culture, a lot of you don’t really care to assess what that means for you.

this….. is racist. i can hardly go a day on this website without seeing pictures of anime girls in oversexualized qipao, often coupled with the other stereotypes like those in this picture.

i feel a lot of people don’t care just because the characters and artists are japanese, but japanese ≠ chinese. and i shouldn’t have to explain the horrific history of japanese sexualization and accessorization of chinese women and culture.

drawing characters in qipao is not inherently bad, but please, please try to critically assess the art you reblog. this goes for other traditional clothing as well; i’m just addressing this specifically because it pertains to me and is very common. i’m tired.
