The George W. Bush nostalgia that a bunch of liberals are feeling is further proof that most of you aren’t there for the “resistance” and this is solely about Trump.
Is it so wrong that people have nostalgia for a time when the government was at least sane, if not really looking out for the people as a whole?
I imagine that most of the people with nostalgia for the bush years were not and are not supportive of dubya, but things these days are just fucking insane.
I’m genuinely curious how old you are that you are so far removed from how surreal and evil the Bush admin was
I was fucking 3 when Bush Jr was elected and I was fully aware of how ridiculous his regime was. They were maliciously incompetent AT BEST. Fucking Muse magazine had an article specifically analyzing the way Bush lied. That was a magazine for nerd kids. Hell I was going to rallies like every other week with my parents. My dad was getting death threats for his cancelled album cover. We were all put on government watch lists. US politics have been an inescapable vortex of bile since Nixon but Bush was like at least Nixon levels of stupid. The fucking vice president was PROVEN to have lied our way into a war to benefit his own financial interests. Part of why I think the impeachment thing is pointless is because of how we were unable to get Bush impeached for EIGHT YEARS. Two fucking terms of a guy who they proved was elected through fraud.
When did he look out for people? When he started an unnecessary war? Or when he left people to die in a hurricane?
