Cuz what it turns into is “i’m depressed so it’s ok for me to let myself fall apart” which is a maladaptive thought and you need to combat directly against that in order to even get slightly better. The first thing they teach you in dialectical behavior therapy, DBT which was created by a mentally ill woman, is something called opposite action which is literally training yourself to do the opposite of what your mind is telling you. So yes, if you feel like you can not move because of depression then you need to start small and actually get out of bed. then walk around uour room and then try to clean up or do something productive. Idk what it is with people like you who add stupid ass comments like this because I literally am diagnosed with depression and am speaking from experience and telling yall what I LEARNED IN THERAPY. This website and this “i can’t do anything cuz i’m mentally ill :(” mentality is not at all helpful because you HAVE to challenge your maladaptive thoughts if you ever want to get better because meds isn’t going to do it all dipshit.
