what ‘academia is inaccessible’ means: much academic writing is financially difficult to acquire and also a lot of it builds on context and area of study-specific vocabulary that the author expects you to already be familiar with, making it difficult to ‘break in’ 

what y’all think it means: if you expect me to have any sort of background knowledge for what i’m talking about or want me to read a word with more than three syllables you want all poor disabled people to die

in recent years the internet has really become a place for people to spread non-media regulated information and for social justice movements to find their footing. i cannot stop thinking about how this is probably a huge huge reason why net neutrality has been on the chopping block so frequently lately. they want to control what we see because they want to make sure their authority isn’t questioned and they want to make sure people can’t unite. it’s scary.

I think some adults need to realize that teens don’t dislike adults because teens are rebellious and punk, a lot of kids and teens dislike adults because every interaction they’ve had with them is dismissing and condescending 

I’m not even a teenager anymore and I still feel like this.
