Okay I’m gonna go watch my shows again but also, you’re going to fucking fail very very badly if the beginning and the end of your feminism comes from pain and suffering and the result of your myopic outlook is the almost deification of the suffering associated with the woman or the woman herself to the extent that it can end up being reactionary, ahistoric, and in its mildest case, misguided. This is truly one of the reasons I think radical feminism failed so bad lol
Effing literally “Drop the T” is a radfem/TERF popular tag.
TERFs are right in lockstep with the right wing as long as trans lives suffer.
A direct quote from the article:
“Attendees were also told to wrap their transphobic rhetoric in the language of feminism, claiming gender identity is a concept offensive to women.”
what this also means: if someone is putting transphobia in feminist language while also not having a basic understanding of other feminist principles, if the extent of their feminist organizing is that, they may well be a christian right plant.
conference speeches aren’t where new tactics are invented. if they’re recommending it at a conference, it’s because they’ve been doing it, and it’s been effective.
A fun reminder that Aang was a terrifyingly powerful Avatar.
Most Avatars are informed of their newfound destinies at the age of 16 to begin their training. Because of the approaching war Aang was told of his status at the age of 12. He had already mastered airbending, and in the span of a year he mastered the other three elements, the avatar state, and energybending. He also learned lightning redirection and seismic sense (a technique no previous Avatar had even encountered). In the span of a year.
basing activism or w/e on the idea of “these people are just like you/someone you know so you should tolerate them” is one of the weakest but most prevalent ideas cuz it relies on erasing differences instead of acknowledging them and working on eliminating the prejudices that form around those differences. like that way of thinking is why “we all bleed red” without realizing that some of us bleed more is like…a thing.
I see your “romantic relationships shouldn’t be more important than platonic relationships” and raise you “romantic relationships shouldn’t be rooted in anything but strong, healthy, and mutually rewarding friendships anyways”
i haven’t stopped seeing notes for this since I posted it and I just wanna reiterate: it’s really important that you don’t get romantically involved with people you can’t be friends with. Separating a romantic relationship from a platonic context is unhealthy. Your romantic partner/s should always be your friend/s.
people run “aesthetic blogs” where they just reblog pics of like neon lights and pools of water and weird textures and stuff and i don’t really get it but i like to look at those blogs, it’s nice to know that you guys are out there, always silent, never getting into fights, just reblogging pics of wrinkled plastic bags… keep doing ur thing
