headcanoning canonically gay characters just because you can be both gay and ace IS homophobic though. especially if said character is a sexual person because you are carrying on a tradition of desexualizing gay people.

Also most people who make these headcanons don’t say “I see this character as gay and ace!” It’s just “I see them as aroace/ace”

Like maybe don’t be shocked by the level of backlash to ace headcanons if you aren’t willing to acknowledge a character is gay too lmao.
